MWANA WEVHU (Child of the soil).Enhancing subsistence cotton farming through education with production creating employment opportunities in Marondera, Zimbabwe.
My research aims to comprehend the intricacies of organic cotton farming in Marondera, Zimbabwe, and to identify strategies for enhancing it, thereby aiding farmers in sustaining their businesses and fostering employment in associated industries. The cultivation and processing of cotton offer abundant job opportunities.
As a component of my architectural intervention, I intend to create a community research center. This facility will equip cotton farmers with the knowledge and skills required to cultivate the crop using sustainable and efficient methods. A pivotal element of the design will be the incorporation of Shona vernacular architecture and locally accessible materials, ensuring that the architecture caters to the needs of the community it serves.
