Main Idea of UDF: A vibrant Ndofaya economy and life

Our design entails a neighbourhood that is accessible to different types of social activities as well as economic activities. The variety of open spaces will allow for informal economic activities where we can have abathengisi at well located well textured open spaces that are inviting to their market.
This will increase the self reliance of residents as well as the resilience of the community as a whole. There is an introduction of mixed uses within the area, making it one that is inclusive to different activities and different people. This also takes into considerations different skills and interests of people living here.
This also reduces the need for people to travel long distances to access work and retail. This is how the design will contribute to the self reliance of the community with an addition of kasi flavour.
A cultural hub for the enhancement of loxion kulture through pop
up store and recreational activities ideal for different types of people.
Now Ndofaya becomes a place of mixed activity where people can sell. There is enough space to trade and a greater market for street traders from the mixed use. This type of activity stimulates public life, in this case, loxion kulture.
