Main Idea of UDF: Improving Sense of Community & Walkability in Tamboville

The UDF seeks to create a sense of community where members have belonging, a feeling that members matter to one another. Place attachment has been identified with emotional bonding and behavioural commitment.

Public spaces like parks and piazzas can facilitate a sense of community by facilitating chance encounters between neighbours. The homes on the site, will be both an area of residence and mixed use nodal activity.

The courtyards that are different in the case of each set of home, allows for serial vision when moving through the site, as each node of homes has a different pattern and uses

The role of our UDF green connectivity network is to organize people movements to follow in the forms of built up green space are to improve the use of public space; with the goal of use by the entire community of all public facilities, as well as private and public green space in the communities.

The presence of the park in the center of the site, will act as the focal feature of the site. With the park connecting both housing and the businesses surrounding the area.
