Main Idea of UDF: Integrated Transit and Cultural Space
The detailed framework focuses on showing the building typology that we are introducing to the site which allows for easier pedestrian movement between the blocks as the blocks are smaller. The decreased block and building sizes encourage people to walk which will make the streets more active.
The buildings will be facing the street so as to create an active street edge so that street performances and art shows have support from everyone in buildings ad those passing. The active streets will lead to people choosing to perform in those spaces or express their street culture in those spaces.
The proposed building typologies in our precinct will create activity along the street and by the corners. The proposed building uses around the Mary Fitzgerald square and Baseline will be mainly used as creative spaces whereby people will perform and art events will be held. Furniture found in the street corners that will make it easier for people to sit and socialise or wait for public transport.
