Our aim for eMondlo neighborhood is to create a space that is both an economic and social node. eMondlo has a high proportion of youth. This means that every now and then, there are either parties or events taking place. This design aims to provide facilities for those people to be able to meet up and socialize and do so safely.
This will be an area to capitalize on in the region and the intention is to draw in investors that will capitalize on these facilities. With the High School, we decided to place a hostel that will accommodate those students who have to make long
commutes to and from school. The small scale farming will work to empower the residents in the community economically.

Our urban design framework shows how we went about altering the prevailing building patterns throughout the site. We also provide some illustrations of some of these buildings, in the major nodes.
Our precinct plan is of the Ziyapopa node. Ziyapopa means that everything is taking place, making it our major node. It will include the taxi rank, a transport interchange re for commuters to buy locally produced items before, during or after their journeys.
